Croatia joins the Einstein Telescope

One more country joins ET. Croatia is now part of our growing community. This milestone marks a significant step forward in expanding collaboration and fostering scientific excellence across Europe.

On 18 February 2025, a special presentation of the ET project took place in Zagreb, organised by the Croatian Ministry of Science, Education, and Youth (MZOM), in particular by Jelena Ilic-Dreven, Head of the Department for Science and Technology Policies and a member of the ET Board of Governmental Representatives. The event brought together prominent figures from the ET community, including:

  • ET Spokesperson Michele Punturo
  • OSB Chair Marica Branchesi
  • EIB Chair Stefano Bagnasco (remotely)
  • SCB Chairs Domenico D’Urso and Wim Walk
  • BGR chair Lodewijk Smoor
  • BGR secretary Roberto Cimino
  • Rijeka Research Unit Coordinator Marin Karuza

Recently, Croatia joined the ET Board of Governmental Representatives, and the research unit from the Croatian team became part of the ET Consortium.
We look forward to seeing the Croatian scientific community bring new perspectives and expertise to the ET collaboration.
