Einstein Telescope Organisation

The structure of the Einstein Telescope Organisation (ETO) is designed to create a responsive, functional environment that supports its ambitious professional mission. Directorate

The directors and associate directors steer ETO and its further development, and are also key representatives of the organisation.

  • Directors: Fernando Ferroni and Andreas Freise
  • Associate directors: Daniela Trani and Pasquale Lubrano

Departments

The Einstein Telescope Organisation (ETO) consists of four departments, each focusing on a different set of tasks.

  • Directors’ Office: supports the ETO Directorate in organisational development , administrative and management activities, partnerships establishment and implementation, external relations and public affairs.
  • Project Office: coordinates project planning and delivery, including scheduling, costing, configuration control, risk management and monitoring of project progress.
  • Engineering Department: oversees technical and civil infrastructure studies with technical partners and host consortia, and coordinates the alignment and integration of (civil) engineering activities.
  • Communication Office: leads strategic communication, supports stakeholder engagement, develops and manages communication activities and tools, and coordinates communication across ET-related entities.

Funding and contributions

ETO is an international inter-institutional initiative, with a funders group consisting of Nikhef, INFN, FWO, BELSPO and IFAE. Additional and in-kind personnel contributions come from Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany, Poland and Spain.
